Parking

Please note that there is NO-ONSITE PARKING available at WOW Kids Playground.  The playground is situated in an older boutique building in the Polk District without on-site parking.  We apologize for the inconvenience. A Village in the Heart of the City San Francisco’s Polk District.

Directions

San Francisco parking is a constant headache for both locals and visitors.  It’s not easy to find parking spots-and most other options are quite pricey.  San Francisco parking garages are your best bet if you plan to drive into the city for the day.  Street parking can be difficult to find and time consuming.  Nearly every space has a parking meter with a two hour time limit.  Below are some of the best options in the Polk Street District.  This will help you quickly find a place to park and know exactly where to go when you arrive.  You can pay parking meters in San Francisco with coins, credit cards, prepaid cards and by phone.  To utilize the pay-by-phone option, download the PayByPhone parking app.  Enter the location number of the meter and pay the necessary amount. You can use the app to replenish your parking time before it expires. There is no charge for using the PayByPhone app.

You can get pre paid parking cards from local merchants in the city. The closet merchant is Cole Hardware, 2254 Polk Street – 415.200.3320, 8am-8pm.  The prepaid parking cards come with a $20 or $50 value.  You can also buy prepaid parking cards online.  However, the cards can take at least a week to arrive. You can use SF Park’s official mobile app to find parking spaces in the city.  The app is updated in real-time and follows dynamic pricing based on the availability of parking spaces.

Information regarding merchants above may not be up-to-date. For more current information, please check with business merchants directly.

Parking Meters

Most meters have a two-hour time limit.  Meter rates vary in the Polk Street district. The rates are between $2.00 and $4.50 per hour.  Hours of operation for most meters are 9am – 6pm Monday – Saturday.  The only holidays with free parking are Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and NewYear’s Day.

METERS ARE NOT IN EFFECT ON SUNDAYS!

After you park, always read the meter to confirm days and hours of operation, time limits, and rates.  Beware of the white, green, yellow and red parking zones.
